| Instructions |
| Put in double boiler 2 cups boiling water and juice and rind of 1 lemon. Beat 1 egg yolk until light and fluffy. Add 3/4 cup white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch or 1 tablespoon flour and 1 tablespoon cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Add to boiling water. Cook until thick. Stir constantly. Add small piece butter when cool. Beat white of egg until stiff. Add 2 teaspoons sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, vanilla or serve with whipped cream. |
