Cabbage Salad With Lime Jello
1 large firm head of cabbage (chopped - 7 cups)
1 green pepper, chopped
1 large jar of pimientos, chopped
2 carrots, grated
1/2 c. grated onion (optional)
Instructions
Combine above ingredients in a large bowl. Mix in 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup salad oil Pour over salad mixture and marinate one hour or more.
Combine 1 teaspoon celery seed
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c.p flour
Pour above ingredients over on small box lime Jello, heat enough to disolve Jello, then cool. Pour over cabbage mixture and refrigerate.
This salad will keep about a week without losing its crispness or becoming strong tasting.
