1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
1 package yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup canned milk (I have used regular)

| Instructions |
| Mix dry ingredients. Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Add egg, milk
and yeast mixture. Stir. Pour into greased pan. Let rise until double.
Bake at 400 degrees fo r20-25 mintues until tests done.
Serve slathered with butter.
