Baked Apples With Red Wine
8 apples, cored
Cherry or strawberry preserves
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. mace or nutmeg
1 c. red wine
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
Place apples in a buttered casserole or baking dish. Fill each with preserves. Blend sugar and mace; stir in wine and vanilla extract. Pour over apples. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Chill 2 to 4 hours before servings. Makes 8 servings.
