Buttermilk Waffles

2 beaten egg yolks
2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. melted shortening or salad oil
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tbsp. sugar
2 stiff beaten egg whites |

| Instructions |
| Combine egg yolks, buttermilk and shortening. Add sifted dry ingredients; beat smooth. Fold in egg whites. Bake in hot waffle iron. Serves 6.
