1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup coconut
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine (I use butter)
2 tablespoons boiling water
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon golden syrup
A pinch of salt is optional
Combine oats, sugar, coconut and flour. Melt syrup and butter together. Mix bicarbonate of soda with boiling water and add to melted butter and syrup. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place tablespoonfuls, well spaced, onto a greased tray and bake in a slow oven for 20 minutes. Allow to cool on tray.
