4 Red Bartlett or Comice Pears, sliced thin
3 1/2 ounces tangy blue cheese
8 ounces nonfat cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

| Instructions |
| Place cheeses and spices in mixing bowl or food processor and whip until smooth, scraping down often. Don't overwork or the mixture will liquefy. Slice pears as close to serving time as possible. If serving spread in a separate bowl, sprinkle top with minced chives or parsley. If spreading ahead, remember a very thin spread has A LOT of flavor.
