Buttermilk Dressing
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. onion salt
Dash of cayenne pepper
3 tbsp. flour
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1/2 c. vinegar
Instructions
Mix sugar, salt, mustard, onion salt, cayenne pepper and flour in top of double boiler; add egg and buttermilk. Stir until smooth; place
over hot water. Cook, stirring, until mixture begins to thicken; add butter. Mix well; add vinegar slowly. Cool; refrigerate. Use on
vegetable or fruit salad. Yield: 1 cup.
